Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter, better known by her stage name of Ari Lennox, is an American artist and performer from Washington, D.C., who was the first woman to be signed to J. Cole's Dreamville Records record label. In the month of October, Ari Lennox released her EP Pho. It was here that she gained recognition. Shea Butter Baby is her debut album. The album was released in May of 2019. Ari Lennox began uploading her tracks on the internet in 2012, when she released her mixtape debut Five Finger Discount, and her debut EP Ariography in 2013. Ari Lennox continued to upload her songs online throughout 2014 and released her own single Bound. The song Sweat it included on Omen's Elephant Eyes album, which was released on July 21, 2015. J. Cole had her send her songs in the direction of his Dreamville Team later that year, as he wanted Rihanna to work together on a few references. The news was released on December 8, she signed with Dreamville Records. She was featured on the album collaboratively titled Revenge of the Dreamers II on the track Backseat with Cozz. On October 21, 2016 the debut EP of Ari Lennox was released, titled Pho. Ari Lennox later appeared on J. Cole's track Change and was an opening act for the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour in 2017. In 2018, she was able to appear on two of her songs along with labelmates EarthGang and EarthGang on Nothing but the Best and Bas on Icarus. Ari Lennox, on the 16th of July in 2018 she released her debut single "Whipped Cream" from Shea Butter Baby. The music video for it was also released on September 5th. Then, on the 9th of November, she released another two singles called 40 Shades of Choke (and Grampa). On November 13 she then came out with two additional singles, No One as well as Pedigree. Shea Butter Baby. Shea Butter Baby was then able to make an appearance in the Creed II album soundtrack alongside Cole. The singer released the single to promote her debut titled Creed II on 26 February 2019. A music video was released 20 February 2019 in order in conjunction with the song. Within the first time, it was viewed more than 3,000,000 views. In December 2018, she performed as an opening act for From East Atlanta With Love Tour. From East Atlanta With Love Tour together with 6LACK.
